Former SDOE chief to testify in Papaconstantinou trial
The former head of the Financial Crimes Squad (SDOE) Yiannis Kapeleris [photo] was among witnesses expected to testify at the trial of former Finance Minister Giorgos Papaconstantinou on Tuesday. The former finance minister is being charged for allegedly removing the names of three of his relatives from a list of Greeks with deposits at a Geneva branch of HSBC, known as the Lagarde list.

Kapeleris has maintained that he was never given a copy of the list, but a single sheet of paper in the form of a printout, a document which he alleges could not be used to investigate possible tax evasion.
